Forestean Justice Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hurst Scott Funeral Home on Dec. 27, 2025.
It is with profound regret and sorrow that the family of Ms. Forestean J. Justice lets it be known that she passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, following an extended illness.

Forestean was born in Haysi, Virginia, on July 3, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Ben Hall and Alma Fields Hall. She loved to spend time sewing, cooking, and going to yard sales and shopping at Goodwill. Those who knew and loved her also knew she could be a bit stubborn and temperamental, and she was definitely set in her ways. She loved it when her family could all be together and spend time enjoying each other's company. Even though she had held a few jobs over the years, she considered raising her family and being a homemaker her most significant accomplishment. Forestean loved God and always stood strong in her faith as a Freewill Baptist believer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Justice, her beloved sons, Larry Mullins and Ronnie Mullins, and several siblings.

Those who remain to carry on her spirit are her:

Children:

Venita Stepp and her companion, Rick Blankenship of Vansant, VA

Kathy Deel and her spouse, Donnie of Vansant, VA

Gary Mullins and his wife, Candie, of Cedar Bluff, VA

Charlie Mullins and his wife, Teresa of Contrary, VA

Teresa Deel

Melanie Mullins, her granddaughter, whom she thought of as her own, of Haysi, VA

Siblings, Glad Hodock and Dennis Hall

Fifteen grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild also survive.

The Funeral for Forestean Justice will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell, Virginia, with the Rev. Danny Short officiating. Interment will follow at the Mullins Family Cemetery in Thompson Valley, Virginia. Grandsons, family, and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends starting at noon on Monday until the time of the service.
