Funeral services for Captain Foster "Frog" Stevens, 72, of Glen Allan, MS will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Lake Washington First Baptist Church in Glen Allan. He passed away suddenly on Monday, September 11, 2023. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Born in Pell City, Alabama on June 6, 1951, Foster was the son of Effie Green Stevens and W. Foster Stevens. He lived most of his life in Hollandale where he attended Hollandale School.
Captain Frog worked in the towing industry for over 46 years. He was always sharing about all the many rivers he navigated across the USA. He retired from Magnolia Marine after 43 years in 2020.
He was a loving, giving, caring husband, father, uncle, and friend.
Frog enjoyed hunting and loved watching baseball. He always had a tale from his past to share with anyone who would listen.
He was a member of Lake Washington First Baptist Church. He was a mason.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his stepsons, Doug and Kevin Keith. Frog is survived by his wife, Keats Hogue Stevens; his son, Foster Blake Stevens (Blair) of Dumas, MS and stepdaughters Tammy Clark, Penny Wade, and Kris Perkins. He is also survived by his sister, Eula Franks of Greenville.
There will be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Arms of Mercy, P.O. Box 4691, Greenville, MS 38704, or to a charity of your choice.
