A Life of Faith and Strength
With hearts full of gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Fran Monique Price Lemelle, who peacefully transitioned on March 9, 2026, at the age of fifty-one.
Born on January 31, 1975, in
Eunice, LA, Fran was the beloved child of Vera Anderson and Larry Reed. From an early age, she demonstrated a spirit of resilience, compassion, and unwavering faith that would guide her throughout life.
As the scripture reminds us, Fran truly fought a good fight-facing life's challenges with courage, perseverance, and grace.
Fighting the Good Fight
Throughout life, Fran worked diligently and faithfully. She was educated in Eunice public schools and graduated from Eunice High School in 1993. She attended McNeese State University, Southern University, and University of LA at Monroe, where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees+30 respectively. Her life was devoted to her career in education for 27 years in the states of Texas and Louisiana, where she served in the following capacities: teacher, counselor, instructional assistant, assistant principal, and presently, principal at James Stephens Montessori School in Ville Platte, LA.
Whether through work, family, or community service, Fran believed in giving her very best and uplifting others along the way. She was an active member of the Lambda Beta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Zeta Pi, Spring '97 initiate) and Chat-a-While Social & Civic Club, Inc. (past president).
Those who knew her will remember her cheerfulness, wisdom, humor, and generosity.
Keeping the Faith
Faith was the foundation of Fran's life. She was christened and accepted Christ as her personal savior at Greater True Light Baptist Church. Presently, she was a devoted member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as past Youth Director, Deaconess, and member of the Women's Ministry. Fran's life reflected the words of scripture-living with faith, hope, and love.
Even in difficult seasons, she remained steadfast, trusting in God and encouraging others to do the same.
Finishing the Course
Family was the heart of Fran's life. She cherished time spent with her husband, children, siblings, parents, and extended family and friends, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and guidance.
Fran was united in marriage to Chad Lemelle for twenty-one (21) years. Together, they built a family rooted in love and faith.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Chad Lemelle of
Eunice, LA; four daughters: Robbi Palmer, Josi, Cayli, and Hali Lemelle; her mother: Vera Anderson; her father: Larry (Veronica) Reed; four sisters: Tracie Reed, Robin (Nate) Futrell, Kaitlin Anderson, and Kristian Anderson; three brothers: Calvin Hardy Jr., Carl Anderson Jr., and Brad (Tennille) Harmon; her grandmother: Theresa Reed, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Roosevelt Price, Sr., Joyce Price, and Melvin Reed; her brother: Donovan Reed; stepfather: Calvin Hardy, Sr.; bonus dad: Carl Anderson, Sr.; and bonus grandmother: Lena Mae Anderson.
