Loid (Sparky) Roger LeMelle passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on February 3, 2026. Born on December 3, 1942, in Pasadena, California, Sparky was the son of Edward and Alice LeMelle.
He proudly served in the US Air Force for four years prior to earning his Bachelor’s Degree at Utah State University in Entomology. Sparky would later retire from Delta Airlines after a 30-year career.
He was known for his love of animals and gardening. He loved nothing more than spending time meticulously tending to his yard. Sparky was a kind and tenderhearted man who quietly served others and blessed the lives of those who knew him.
Sparky is survived by his wife, Susan; children Matt (Kori), Amy (David), Madison (Trevor), Todd (Vanessa), Clayton (Libby), Grant (Lorie), Spencer (Sarah), and Elaine; nineteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister Heather.
We invite all family and friends to attend a Celebration of Life to honor and remember Sparky. The celebration will be held at the Grand Ballroom (165 S. Main Street, Bountiful, UT 84010) on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
