Frances "Anita" Davis was born on June 4, 1941 to Floyd and Bill "Sweetheart" Powell in Memphis, Tennessee and lived a life full of love, compassion, and unwavering strength. As a wife, she shared 65 years of marriage with her devoted husband Billy, building a life full of memories, laughter, and unbreakable bond. She was raised in Cotton Plant, AR where she and Billy were high school sweethearts. While in high school, she was in BETA Club, played on the basketball team, cheered for 3 years, and participated on the yearbook staff. She was a member of the choir and sang with the sextette and quartette that was established by her voice teacher Miss Betty Sue Moore. She and Billy have been lifelong Methodists and attended Searcy First Methodist Church. She was not only a loving and nurturing mother to her children, but also a proud and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, always offering wisdom, warmth, and guidance. Her family was her heart, and she poured her love into everything she did. Anita was the cornerstone of her family, a source of comfort and support in every season of life and never failed to offer her sass and humor. She touched the lives of those around her with kindness, selflessness, and a quiet, steadfast love that will never be forgotten. Some of the best days of her life were spent watching her grandchildren swim, cheer, play t-ball, football, baseball, softball, and basketball and participate in quiz bowl and band. She could not have been prouder of her grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through her children Kelly (Billy) Whitley, Karen (Bill) Fuller, and Melissa (Jason) Boyster. Her grandchildren Kristen (Justin) Richardson, Kayla (Allan) Fairbanks, Dakota (Kaylee) Weatherley, Chance (Lyla) Cash, Austin Cash, Dylan and Anna Bradley, Tara (Zane) Richardson, Megan (Chris) Knight, and Jeni (Blake) Gibson, great grandchildren Izzy, Isaac and Adalyn Richardson, Aiden and Cade Fairbanks, Avery Kate, Paxton, and Presley Weatherley, Izzi Fuller, Declan Richardson, Chois and Maddie Knight, and Mia Gibson and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will remain with us always; in every cherished memory and moment we shared. A service will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00a.m.. Anita wanted to express that her greatest joy in life has been to be Billy's wife and mother to her precious girls as well as grandmother and great grandmother to her grandchildren. She said, "I have truly been blessed to live close enough to my family that I have had the chance to see them in all of their school activities and have loved every minute." We will carry your love in our hearts forever. You were our greatest gift, and we will miss you always.
