Frances Demery Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 18, 2025.
Frances "Franny" Demery
Frances Marion Demery was born May 30th 1958 in Iowa City. She sadly passed away unexpectedly at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, IA on Wednesday January 22nd 2025.
Frances loved camping, fishing, and mushroom hunting. She took great, great pride in caring for her plants. She also enjoyed spending her time beading and others various crafts. Frances loved playing cards and visiting with family and friends. She would collect unique rocks and all kinds of jewelry. She was very proud of her Indian heritage and showed it by all the Indian wall hangings and sculptures she collected. Frances was always in charge of making the biggest batch of her delicious homemade potato salad for family gatherings. She also made torpedos, a sort of Indian taco. These were something she remembered her dad bringing home when she was little. You might also catch her eating her favorite broasted chicken from the Riverside Tavern and drinking her Coke.
Frances is survived by her daughter Nicole Kunkel (Tim Peterson) Forest City, very special nephew Mark Demery, sisters Crystal, Roxanne, Cindy and brothers Gordy and Kevin all from around the Lehigh, Fort Dodge area. She also has many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, Beverly and Gordon Demery and her beloved dog Dezi.
There will be a memorial celebration of life Saturday, February 8th at 10:00am at the Washington Township Cemetery in Duncombe, followed by a luncheon at the Lehigh Community Center. Family and Friends are welcome.
