Frances M. Ficks, 91, of Mercersburg, passed away on September 29, 2025.

Born September 10, 1934, in Mercersburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Jacob L. and Margaret Frances (Leab) Lininger.

Frances graduated from Lemasters High School and married Lewis M. Ficks. She worked 10 years at the Stanely Clothing Company and also worked as a nurse's aide. For 13 years she operated the Pleasant Valley Restaurant in Fort Littleton, and the Frontier Western Wear in Fort Loudon, PA. Frances enjoyed sitting on a swing on her back porch, and traveling with her husband.

Frances was a member of the St. Thomas Assembly of God, and was also a Sunday School teacher for many years.

A graveside funeral will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 9, at Stenger Hill Cemetery, in Fort Loudon, PA, with Pastor Johnathan Laye officiating.

Frances is survived by her nephew, Randall Mowers, and two nieces, Jody Koontz, and Carol Myers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis M. Ficks (2020), a sister, Viola Mowers, a brother, John Lininger, a beloved niece Deborah Lininger, nephew Michael Mowers.
