Frances Talley Hammock, age 92 of Lilburn, GA died February 1, 2024.
Frances Hammock was born in Sugar Valley, GA (near Dalton and Calhoun, GA). She lived in the Atlanta area and attended the Atlanta Beauty School. She loved watching the Atlanta Crackers baseball team. After marriage in 1952 she travelled to England for a few years and had her first child. When she returned to the states in1954 she lived in the Atlanta area. She moved to Lilburn and has resided here for 61 years.
Frances loved cooking for others. She began working in the school cafeteria at Lilburn Elementary in 1970 and retired after 24 years. After that she worked at Lilburn First Baptist and mountain Park Church cooking for Wednesday nights and other events.
Frances was a faithful follower of Jesus. Each morning began with her Bible, a Devotional and exercise. She also enjoyed walking at Lilburn Park. She has attended various churches in Lilburn while raising her 4 children. She has now been at Lilburn First Baptist for many years. She was the most loving person to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Hammock, son Dale Hammock and 4 loving sisters. She is survived by her sister Maggie Foster (Ken), daughter Debbie Lee (Mike), son Don Hammock (Pam) and daughter Diane Iocco. She has 8 wonderful grandchildren and 4 precious great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, February 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bill Head Funeral Home Lilburn/Tucker chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM following visitation. A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at 1:00 PM.
