Frances Anne Herrington, 88 of Smiths Grove passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
The Edmonson County native was a daughter of the late William Lanis and Gracie Ellen Meisel Martin. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie and Bill Martin. Frances served in the banking community for many years. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Oakland Homemakers. Frances loved spending time with her family and with her church family and friends.
Leaving to cherish her memory is her husband of 69 years, Richard Herrington; four children, Debra Anne Thomas (Brad), Richard Martin Herrington (Sharon), Susan Lanise Coe (Carlie, Jr. ) and Joy Lynn Warren (Jeff); nine grandchildren, Blake Thomas (Alex), Zack Thomas (Kennedy), Josh Herrington (Cindy), David Herrington, Claire Shuffett (Zach), Chastity Martin (Eric), Max Wheeler (Ashley), Will Wheeler (Leah) and Sam Wheeler; 25 Great Grandchildren; one sister, Suellen Whittle(John); and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 12 noon Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Oakland Baptist Church or Cedar Springs Community Church.
