Frances Ice Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home on Nov. 11, 2024.
Frances "Tutty" Ice, 72, of Athens passed away on Friday November 8, 2024.
Born February 24, 1952, in Gallipolis, Ohio, the daughter of the late Chester
and Ruth Bevan Bennett.
Tutty married Newton Ice in December of 1996, and they had a wonderful
life together until he passed on November 1, 2024. She worked at various places.
in the Athens area and was known for her ability to help the community and
Veterans by volunteering her time at the American Legion Post #21, Ladies Auxiliary.
She, along with the other ladies, were able to put together dinners for the
community, various political parties, and the children for special holiday
celebrations. Tutty also served as Poppy Chairman for several years, helping
to raise money for our U.S. Veterans. She loved her family and friends and
and enjoyed camping with her family, bowling on a league where she earned
her 400 Patch. She loved to laugh and play random pranks on her loved
ones all the while making sure everyone was cared for. She lived her life to the
fullest, she loved with all her heart and she could make you laugh at any
given time. She believed that you shouldn't take life too seriously and lived
her motto "we will do something even if it's wrong" and that was the moment
when you knew whatever was broken could be fixed.
Tutty is survived by children Jody (Dan) Shank, step children Alma (Jim) Deeter,
Newt (Sheila) Ice, Becky (Bill) Black, Tracey Ice, Joe (Laynee) Adams, Jason Adams,
15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews including a
"Favorite nephew Les (Nancy) Angell; a sister Judy Ross (Marvin Pullins).
Preceded by her husband Newt Ice, her parents Chester and Ruth Bennett,
sister Catherine Louise Gambill, and a brother Roger Bennett.
Services will be on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, with
Pastor Larry Swart officiating. Burial is in Athens Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is Tuesday 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
