Frances Josephine Loughran, 82, passed away peacefully on May 6th 2025 at her home in Evans, Georgia, after a short illness.

Frances was born on 10th October 1942 in Edinburgh, Scotland during the middle of WW2. She married her first husband, David Boyd, in 1962 and they had two children, Denise and David.

Frances was a nurse and met her second husband, Tom Loughran, an engineer, in Saudi Arabia in the 1980s. They married in Tom’s home town of Belfast in 1989 and on retirement, chose to live in the United States where Tom was already a citizen. Frances became a citizen in her own right in 1996.

Frances and Tom were well liked and respected in their community, with the congregation of Christ Church Presbyterian in Evans supporting them during Tom’s illness and after his passing in September 2023.

Frances is survived by her daughter Denise, who lives in Melbourne Australia, her son David who lives in Edinburgh, Scotland, and her sister Flora who lives in the Scottish Borders.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her wit, and her magnificent shortbread. Those who have tasted it will never forget it!

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 21st at 11:00 AM at Christ Church Presbyterian, 4201 Southern Pines Drive, Evans GA 30907. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:55 AM at the church.

In recognition of the support shown to Frances and Tom during their final years by the Christ Church Presbyterian community, the family invites memorial donations to the church with various options available at www.christchurchpres.org/give
