Frances McIntosh Lowrey, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Madison, MS. Born on February 12, 1930, in Crystal Springs, MS, she was the daughter of Charles McIntosh and Madie Stokes McIntosh..

Frances dedicated much of her professional life to serving as a clerk with the Hinds County Tax Collector's office. Her commitment to her work was matched by her devotion to her family, who were the center of her world. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great grandchild, creating lasting memories that her family will hold dear.

Frances was a proud graduate of the Old Byram High School.  She spent the majority of her life in the Byram and South Jackson areas.  She then moved to Sunnybrook in Madison, where she made many new friends. She poured her love into her garden, which was a source of pride and joy. Her passion for gardening reflected her nurturing spirit, and she often found solace in tending to her yard. Additionally, she had a zest for life that included shopping trips, always ready to embrace new adventures.

Frances is survived by her son, Bobby Lowrey, and his wife Jean; her daughter, Susan Ray; her sister, Sue Davis; and her beloved grandchildren: Anthony Ray and his wife Becca, Joseph Ray and his wife Phoebe, Amber Thompson and her husband Robert, and Jenny Lowrey. Her great granddaughter, Willow Ray, brought her immeasurable joy. Frances also leaves behind several nieces, great nieces, and great nephews, who will carry her memory forward.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob G. Lowrey, her brother, Charles McIntosh, a sister, Pauline Murphy, and her son-in-law, Carl Ray. Frances's legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate through the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
