Richard "Richie" Lowrey, born on September 7, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on December 8, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana. He was a dedicated Dispatcher for an ambulance company, a role that reflected his commitment to serving his community. Richie proudly served in the U.S. Navy, where he demonstrated the values of duty and honor that remained with him throughout his life.

An avid reader with a particular passion for history, Richie was known for his intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. After completing high school, he embraced his love for athletics by coaching track, imparting his knowledge and passion for the sport to the next generation.

Richie's heart belonged to Brooklyn, New York, a place he loved deeply and often spoke fondly of. In addition to his professional and coaching endeavors, he was a valued member of St. Mark Catholic Church and was known for his daily visits to McDonald's, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of the Coffee Club.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth Lowrey, who laid the foundation for the values he cherished throughout his life. Richie is survived by several cousins, who will remember him for his warmth, kindness, and dedication to family.

A Mass of Christian of Richie will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM at St. Mark Catholic Church, located at 535 E. Edgewood Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227. Burial will be at Marion National VA Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.

Richie's legacy of service, love for history, and connection to community will be honored and celebrated by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
