Funeral services for Frances Lou Mullen, 84, of Brandon, MS, and formerly of Greenville, MS, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time. She passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Frances will be buried at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens next to her parents and her sister, Bessie Ford.

She was born in Shelby, MS, on March 20, 1941, to Joshua and Nora Edna Mullen. She dedicated her life to taking care of family members and was a devoted church member for 60 years at Grace Methodist Church in Greenville. Throughout her career, she was employed by American General Insurance, Brent Marine, and by Port City Trucking, where she made lifelong friends with Brian Oakes and Ginger Agostinelli.

Special thanks to all the people at Highland Home and to Hospice for the loving care she received during her bout of dementia.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, her brother Austin Mullen, her sister Bessie Mullen Ford, and husband Henry Marshall Ford; her sister Essie Mullen Wilbur; her sister Nora Mullen Powell; her sister Ethel Ray Mullen Douglas; and her daughter-in-law Jeanne Coon Ford.

She is survived by her immediate family of nephews, Kerry Ford and his wife Gloria of Brandon, MS, Terry Ford of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jerry Ford of Grenada, MS. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her wonderful friend, partner in crime, and roommate, Martha Hanson.

The service will be officiated by her great-nephew, Gordon Marshall Ford.

I learned so much from Frances working with her at Brent Marine Supply Co. during the 1990s. Not only about efficient and professional business keeping practices, but she taught me about character, respect and kindness by her profound example.
She was extremely devoted to her family and loved going to the lake house on weekends where they played cards and made the most of what is now rare in our society, "family time." When her brother-in-law became ill, she kept the yard mowing, blowing, and trimming hedges. I still don´t know how she did everything she did and did it all so well. She will remain a treasured friend even in her passing.
