Frances Cleo "Coot" Owens, age 88, widow of Sam Owens, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, May 25, 2024.
She was born May 24, 1936 in Ninety-Six, SC, and was the daughter of the late Furman Lawrence and Eloise Culbertson Bratcher. She retired from Clinton Mills after 34 years of service. After her retirement she worked for Laurens County School District 56 until 2019. Mrs. Owens was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Mike Owens (Sheryl); her daughter, Robin Owens Martin (Philip); her grandchildren, Michael Owens (Tori), Avery Owens Holsenback (Jordan), and Brandon Martin (Brooke); and her great-grandchildren, Samantha and Stella Holsenback, and Callum and Wren Martin.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 27, 2024 at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. Chuck Pace and Mr. Buddy Bridges officiating. Entombment will follow at Pinelawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Shealy, Al Roebuck, David Pitts, Larry Owens, Joe Farmer, and Joey Pittman.
