Frances Carolyn Roberts, age 92, passed away peacefully September 4, 2025, at Medicalodge of Kinsley, Kansas.
Carolyn was born on her family’s homesteaded farm near Lewis, Kansas on October 12, 1932. The daughter of James Leroy and Frances Lucille Vanderree McClaren. She graduated with the Class of 1950 from Lewis High School. In 1952 she married Jack Roberts of Lewis, Kansas. They were members of the Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. Carolyn enjoyed traveling, gardening, crafts, and her cats.
Preceded in death by her husband Jack Roberts, her parents, brothers Jay Leroy McClaren, Frank Willis McClaren, David Earl McClaren, two infant brothers. Sisters Thelma Louise Young, Catherine Eileen McClaren and a nephew.
Survived by brother Bruce Lee and Norma McClaren of Fowler, KS and sister Barbara Judy Wheaton of Lewis, KS. Many generations of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday September 10, 2025, at Wayne Cemetery Lewis, KS 67552.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Prairie, in care of McKillip Funeral Home, 623 Marsh Ave. Kinsley, KS 67547.
