Frances Dameron Stapleton

Frances Dameron Stapleton, 78, of Columbia passed Saturday, November 1, 2025. She was born October 27, 1947, in Moberly, to Edna Dameron Hayes and stepdad Raymond E. Hayes.
She worked for 30 years in the children's unit at the University of Missouri, where she loved them babies! She also enjoyed playing cards, enjoying family time, and her grandkids.
Frances will always be remembered for her infectious smile and being able to make you laugh so hard. She did not like to have her picture taken, but she left a lot of wonderful memories. We Thank God for giving her a warm, loving spirit.
She is survived by her children, Earl J. Stapleton Jr and his wife Shelia, Michelle Stapleton, and Teresa Michell, grandchildren, Jaquashanie Spain, Mariona Stapleton - Daniel's, Janessa Stapleton and Mar'zavion Stapleton, 2 brothers, Jimmy Dameron and Raymond Hayes, 4 sisters, Connie Sills, Carol Smith, Shelly and Don Colley, and Peggy Ewing, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, other relatives and friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl J. Stapleton Sr, and a sister, Margaret Dameron.
Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at a visitation to be held Friday, November 14, 2025, 4-6 pm, at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel, with Funeral services honoring Mrs. Stapleton to follow at 6 pm. A private committal will follow at a later date.
