Frances Byrd Warren, 87, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born in Surry County, NC, to the late George Everette Byrd and Avy Alexander Byrd on January 14, 1936.

Frances graduated from Elkin High School in 1954. She was active in sports, including volleyball and softball, and especially excelled in basketball. Her high school reunions were some of the special events in her life.

Frances was a lifelong Christian and member of Center Grove Baptist Church, Clemmons, for over thirty years. She had a beautiful alto voice, and loved to play piano and sing hymns and Southern Gospel. She sang in several different gospel groups over her lifetime and was always a member of the church choir.  

Along with her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Henry H. Warren Jr.; children, Jane Warren and Joe Warren; three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Herman (Mark) and Jan Warren; grandchildren, Katie Atwood (Graham), Tommy Harper (Joy), Andy Harper (Katie), Grace Rucker and Jackson Rucker; great grandchildren, Molly, Morgan, Henry, Grayson, Lily, and Maddie; cherished nieces, Cecilia Ayers and Mary Harris; and many other family members that were special to her.

A Visitation Celebration will be held 3-5pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek, Saturday, October 28, 2023.
