MRS. FRANCES ANN SELPH WEST, age 80, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home, in Eastman, GA.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Tim Tanner officiating.
Frances was born in Ocilla, GA and spent her early years in Florida before moving back to Georgia after high school with her family. She later lived in Virginia until 1987 when she moved to Eastman, GA. She worked for several companies over the years including Jessup Loan Company, Sterling Finance, World Finance, and Wal-Mart, Inc. She was a member of Eastman First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed puzzle books, reading westerns, loved animals, and had many cherished pets over the years. But most of all, her whole life revolved around her grandchildren. They were her heart and soul and she enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. Frances was the daughter of the late Mary Selph and Artis Selph of Chauncey, GA and was preceded in death by her Brother, Darral Selph.
She is survived by her Daughter – Shanna Sheffield (Tommy) of Eastman; Son – Lance "Snookie" Selph (Janie) of Eastman; Grandchildren – Daniel Selph of Indianapolis, IN, T.J. Sheffield (Marissa) of Milan, Hope Sheffield of Chauncey, Bree Sheffield of Eastman, Nick Sheffield of Eastman, and Emily Martinez (Juan) of Ft. Valley; Great-Granddaughter – Maggie Sheffield of Milan; Sister – Willene Lewis (Ernie) of Cataract, IN; Several Nieces and Nephews; Special Family – Angie Yawn and Zachary Carey, both of Chauncey and many foster children throughout the years.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Shanna and Tommy Sheffield, 620 Lovely Grove Church Rd., Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:30PM-2:00PM Tuesday, May 7. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to the Church or favorite charity of the donor's choice.
