Frances Christine Wolfe

Frances Christine Wolfe, 91, of Moundsvillle, died Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in Moundsville Health Care Center.

She was born on May 1, 1934 in West Virginia; the daughter of the late John H. and Mildred G. Fuchs Hicks.

Frances was a clerk at the Convenient Store in Moundsville; worked as a seamstress at Budd Dry Cleaners; and was a member of Moundsville Baptist Church, raising her family as God chose.

Frances was a loving, devoted mother who spent many years caring for her family. She loved gardening and cooking special meals; and was a talented seamstress.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred "Dean" Wolfe; one daughter, Jennifer Kimpel; one granddaughter, Emily Kimpel; one brother, Robert H. Hicks; and one son-in-law, Thomas Hildebrandt.

Survivors include three children, June Christine (Mike) Wade of Moundsville, Cynthia Hildebrandt of Moundsville; and Robert "Bob" (Amber) Wolfe of Bethlehem; one son-in-law, Tim Kimpel; eight grandchildren, Eric (Jody) Wade, Callie Wade, Kevin (Lauren) Hildebrandt, Chad (Heidi) Kimpel, Benjamin (Amanda) Kimpel, Lydia (Eric) Haught, Lily Wolfe, and Dean Wolfe; and seven great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held by Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, Moundsville, with private interment in Limestone Cemetery, Moundsville.
