Judith Dobbs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory - Moundsville on Jan. 20, 2026.
Judith "Judy" Dobbs (née Judith Marcia Hinds) of Moundsville, West Virginia, was born October 5, 1943 to George "Bud" and Margaret Heatherington Hinds in Wheeling and entered eternal rest surrounded by family on January 20, 2026.

She is reunited with parents, siblings, and granddaughter in death: Gary Hinds, Georgia Hinds Lewis, John Hinds, Marlene Garin, and Jessica (Allman) Reeder.

Heartbroken by our loss yet comforted by her peace, she is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles William Dobbs; her children, Janet (Bill) Allman, Larry (Brenda) Dobbs, and Michael (Jo Ann) Dobbs; her sisters-in-law Mary and Jacki Hinds; her grandchildren, Corianne (Erik) Tipton, Shanda (Ben) Lasure, Joshua Dobbs, and Kayla Behrens; her great-grandchildren, Jamie Reeder, Charlieann Tipton, Evelyn Lasure, and Rosalind Lasure; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins of Muncie, Indiana.

Judy will be remembered for the warmth she carried, her welcoming smile, the generosity that shaped the lives of those around her, and of course her cooking. Through her kindness, love and devotion to make so many feel like family, she provided a foundation of love and care. Attending Oak Grove United Methodist Church of Fork Ridge, Judy lived her faith through quiet service to others, including 30 years at the CVS location in Moundsville. The memories made around her kitchen table stand as a testament to the life she shared so freely. She leaves behind a legacy that teaches those who love her to care for others, to find joy in life's simple moments, to dance, and above all – be together as family. She was also a member of the Moundsville Order of the Eastern Star #86.

She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery beside her parents, and sister, returning to the earth she so lovingly tended awaiting a joyful reunion of her "Bill".

The funeral will be held at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave. Moundsville on Friday, January 23rd at 11am and a viewing will be held Thursday, January 22nd from 3-7pm.

The family thanks the kind gentle services of Valley Hospice. If you feel compelled to donate in her memory, we ask any be made to the Marshall County Animal Shelter, 37 Animal Shelter Dr., Moundsville, WV 26041.
