Francesca Faieta, 85, of Cedar Grove, N.J., passed away peacefully in her home on August 7, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 11 from 4-8 p.m. at Shook s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove. Services begin on Friday, August 12th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A Catholic prayer service will be offered at 11 a.m. with mausoleum entombment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, N.J. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
Born on April 3, 1937, in Picciano, Italy to the late Angelo and Adalgisa Troiano, Francesca married the love of her life, Ugo Faieta, in 1959 and had 2 children, Cinzia and Paride (Paul). She was a mom and housewife until 1973 when she decided to follow her sister, Lidia, to America to chase the American dream. She and her family moved to Palisades Park where they purchased their first home. She became an American citizen in 1991. She worked for Evan Picone until 1993 and then ADS until she retired in 2013. In 2014 she moved to Cedar Grove to be close to her grandchildren, whom she adored. She was a strong woman, a fantastic cook, and a proud mother and grandmother. Besides her children and grandchildren, becoming an American citizen was one of her greatest achievements.
Predeceased by her 5 siblings and her parents, she is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Ugo Faieta; loving children, Cinzia Faieta and Paul Faieta, and his wife, Francene; cherished grandchildren, Mia Faieta and Alex Faieta; and many nieces and nephews.
