Francesco LoConte

Francesco LoConte, 94, of Clifton, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Mussomeli, Sicily, Italy, Mr. LoConte came to the United States in May of 1966. He settled in Passaic for a few years before buying a home in Clifton in 1970. He has been a Clifton resident ever since. Before his retirement, Mr. LoConte was employed as a textile worker with Missbrenner, Inc. of Clifton for 15 years. Previously, he worked at other local textile companies.
Mr. LoConte had a keen interest in horse racing and made weekly visits to the Meadowlands to watch the races. Another source of enjoyment was watching his favorite Italian soccer team, A.C. Milan. He also enjoyed playing card games and gardening. Most of all, he enjoyed his time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his four brothers, Sebastiano, Joe, Vince and Giovanni LoConte and one sister, Maria Azzarello.
Survivors include: his beloved wife, Vincenza (nee Carrubba); two devoted daughters, Francesca LoConte Messina and her husband, Calogero Messina and Maria Dokum; her son-in-law, Andy Dokum; two grandchildren, Cristina Gasparri and her husband, Nicolas and Joseph Dokum; and three great-granddaughters, Mariella, Gianna and Alessia Gasparri.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 beginning 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept memorial contributions.
