In Loving Memory of Francis Drollinger
1938 – 2024
Francis Drollinger (Frank), a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the age of 86.
A native of East New York, Brooklyn, Frank was a man of deep faith and kindness. He graduated from Fordham University in 1963 with a BBA degree, marking the beginning of a lifelong love for learning and philosophy.
In 1965, Frank moved to Woodhaven, NY, with his late wife, Carol (2015), and their young family. They became active members of both St. Thomas the Apostle and St. Elizabeth's RC Churches, where Frank served as a lector. His faith was central to his life, and he was inspired by the values of the Franciscan order-living humbly, serving others, and seeking wisdom in all things.
An avid fisherman, Frank found peace in nature and cherished his summers fishing on Eastern Long Island for many years. He loved to share stories of these fishing adventures with family and friends. He was also an enthusiast of opera and orchestral music, drawing joy and solace from the beauty of sound. A lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, he enjoyed spirited conversations about the game and the world around him, always with a thoughtful perspective.
Frank's love for philosophy shaped his approach to life, always seeking meaning and deeper understanding. His wisdom and compassionate nature will be greatly missed by his three children-Paul, Margaret, and John-along with his three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.
Though he is no longer with us, Frank's legacy of faith, family, and wisdom will continue to inspire all who knew him.
