Francis A. Lavalley

Francis Alexander LaValley, born on June 25, 1939, in Burlington, Vermont, passed away on November 11, 2025. With a life spanning over eight decades, Francis leaves behind a legacy marked by dedication, service, and devotion. Francis's life was shaped by his commitment to serving his country. Throughout his time in the U.S. Army and National Guard, he took great pride in his roles and exemplified the values of duty, honor, and patriotism. His contribution to these esteemed institutions was a testament to his unwavering dedication to protecting and serving. Aside from his notable military achievements, Francis's personal life included a remarkable accomplishment. He recently celebrated a significant 65th anniversary with his dear partner, Marie, a testament to the enduring love and companionship that have defined their relationship. This milestone speaks volumes about the depth of their bond and the many years of shared experiences and mutual support. Francis's surviving family includes his wife, Marie LaValley; his daughter, Carrie Justice (LaValley), and her husband, Gordie (deceased); his son, Todd LaValley, and his wife, Dianne; and his four grandchildren: Kyle Justice, Erica Justice and her children Devon and Autumn, Ethan LaValley and his wife Kai, and Miles LaValley and his wife Emily. His family stands as a testament to the love and connection that were central to his life. The interment of Francis's cremated remains will take place at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
