Robert Pantaline Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gifford Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Richmond on Nov. 13, 2025.
Robert "Bob" Pantaline passed away peacefully at the age of 63 on November 3, 2025, in his home and surrounded by his family.
Born in Wappingers Falls, NY on April 3, 1962, Bob quickly grew into his family role as rebel and comedian, never taking himself, or anything else, too seriously. Bob graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 1980 and began a lifelong career at IBM - but don't ask us what he did there, we have no idea. He spent over 40 years doing something with microchips and monopolizing the home phone with calls to customers in China. What Bob was truly passionate about was not his job, but his music, his humor, his family, his assortment of weird cats over the years, and the great comfort he found in his little church community at Richmond's Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Delaney, who loved and cared for him until his last breath, and survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters: Laura & husband, Chris Sayles, of Raleigh NC; Lisa & husband, David Hudson, of Pittsford, VT; and Karol Anne & husband, Matthew Smith of Clayton, NC; his beloved grandchildren: Luke, James, Fiona, Loretta and Benjamin; his brother, John & wife, Paula; sister, Anne & partner, Terry; brother-in-law, Edward & wife, Cathy; brother-in-law, David; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins - all of whom he loved dearly.
Bob will be remembered for his unrelenting humor, sharp wit, countless silly voices and impersonations, questionable odors, and blasting his music so loudly we may all have serious hearing damage. He was an insanely naturally talented musician, a loving father and husband, and the life of any party he walked into - though he truly preferred to be at home blasting Frank Zappa with his beloved "Kath" and the aforementioned weird cats. He will be missed more than can be conveyed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to:
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
and/or
Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Richmond, Vermont
Friends and family will be invited to a memorial service Spring 2026 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Richmond, VT. Details to follow. Questions or condolences, contact Laura at 802-310-2817. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Robert, please visit our floral store.

That obituary is spot on !! Bobby had a great sense of humor. We had some great times when we were in our twenties. We both loved and played music. We jammed several times and even saw Frank Zappa a couple of times together. We were both Zappa freaks!! We will miss you Bobby!!

To Kathy and all the family. I'm so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. We were some some crazy comrades in high school. He always called me Dougie, among other choice things. He made my youth fun. We played in a few bands together, and engaged in other mischievous and questionable behavior. I used to tease him that Jimmy Page was better than Zappa. We both knew that wasn't true. I'll remember the Monty Python skits. We both grew up with only our moms for guidance. We were like misfit brothers. I'll miss him so very much. May God's peace be with you all. I know we'll all see him again.

My sincere condolences to Kathy,John and entire Pantaline Family. My childhood wouldn't have been the same without having Bob as a mentor and a friend. He made growing up so much easier! I think back and can't remember Bob without Kathy or Bob not making the day Better! One of my last memories of Bob was going to Frank Zappa with Steve Morgan at the wheel. I know God is so much Happier with Bob by his side!
