Francis Sprott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jackman Funeral Home - Whitinsville on Dec. 1, 2025.
Whitinsville: Francis "Frank" Sprott, 83, formerly of Colonial Drive, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehab after a period of declining health. He met this time with quiet resilience and a calm acceptance of life's final chapter.

Born in Whitinsville on June 15, 1942, Frank was the son of Kenneth E. and Anne (Karoty) Sprott and spent nearly his entire life rooted in the community he loved. He worked close to 30 years as an inspector for the former Norton Company in Worcester and later devoted a decade to the maintenance department at Beaumont Nursing and Rehab in Northbridge. A skilled carpenter, he took pride in lending his craftsmanship to projects for family and friends and was always willing to help where he was needed. He was also a parishioner of St. Patrick's Parish.

Frank is survived by his four children and six grandchildren. His son Edward and his wife Christta, with their children Elijah and Charley Ann, reside in Wolcott, Connecticut. His son Steven and his son Sean live in Whitinsville. His daughter Pamela and her sons Joshua, Michael, and Joseph live in Northbridge. His son Jeffrey resides in Grafton. He also leaves behind two sisters, Judith who resides in Whitinsville and Sonia who resides in Douglas, along with two stepbrothers, Arthur and Chuck, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth "Buzzy" and his sister Cynthia "Nina."

Frank cherished the outdoors and found peace in time spent fishing, canoeing, and camping. These moments were opportunities to spend meaningful time with family, friends, and the natural world he appreciated so deeply. He was a longtime presence at the Uxbridge Progressive Club, where he enjoyed the routine, the camaraderie, and familiar conversation. Over the years, he had many beloved pets, and he especially enjoyed the steady companionship of his dog, Jack.

A proud U.S. Navy Vietnam Era Veteran, Frank served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk. He remained connected to the veteran community throughout his life and was frequently found at the Uxbridge VFW, where he enjoyed the fellowship and shared experiences of those who had served.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the caregivers, nurses, and staff at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehab for the dedicated care, attention, and respect they provided to Frank throughout his extended stay. Their support brought comfort to both him and his family.

Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His presence, guidance, quiet humor, and dedication to family and friends leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of those he touched.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 5th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring Street in Whitinsville. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 6th, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Parish, 1 Cross Street, Whitinsville.
