Francis "Frank" Vignola, a cherished father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 1, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 2, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, Frank's life was a testament to his resilience, kindness, and unwavering support for his loved ones and fellow veterans.
Frank's early years in Brooklyn were filled with the bustling energy of the city, which shaped his tenacious spirit. After marrying the love of his life, Maria, the couple moved to Hazlet, where they built a life together filled with love and mutual respect. Frank was a devoted husband to Maria for 51 years until her passing in 2022, a loss he bore with grace and strength.
He was a beloved father to his daughter, Patricia, and a respected father-in-law to Lee Tyler. Frank's bond with Patricia was unbreakable, and he was her greatest supporter, whether by her side at Mets games or assisting with her theatrical endeavors. His beloved grandson, Henry Tyler, will have many fond memories of his grandfather. His sister, Marie Reybert, will remember Frank as a guiding light in their family, a role he embraced with humility and warmth.
Frank's professional life was marked by his dedication as a computer tech, a career that showcased his analytical mind and problem-solving abilities. His service in the US Army during the Vietnam War was a period of profound growth and commitment, and it instilled in him a lifelong dedication to his fellow servicemen and women.
An avid baseball enthusiast, Frank's loyalty to the NY Yankees never wavered, yet his love for the game transcended team allegiances, leading to many cherished outings with his daughter to cheer on the Mets. His interests were diverse, from the arts to martial arts, with his practice of karate demonstrating his discipline and strength of character.
Frank's passion for helping others, especially disabled veterans, was a cornerstone of his life. As a past Commander for the New Jersey chapter of the Disabled American Veterans, he worked tirelessly to advocate for those who served. His involvement with the Veteran Equine Therapy program at Serenity Stables in Middletown was a source of joy and fulfillment, as he witnessed the healing power of the bond between veterans and horses.
Frank Vignola's legacy is one of courage, compassion, and unwavering support for his family and community. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Frank, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by the countless lives he touched and the positive impact he made on the world around him.
Please join the family at a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, June 12th from 11 - 1pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Service will conclude the afternoon and Frank's ashes will be laid to rest toe the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery.
