Francis M. Whalen, 82, of Groveland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his loving wife by his side.
He was born in Somerville, MA, on April 22, 1943, son of the late Patrick and Ellen (Hanlon) Whalen.
Francis, 'Frank', was educated in the Somerville Catholic School System and graduated from St. Mary's High School. He would later go on to receive his bachelor's degree from Boston State College. He also served in the National Guard. Frank would later work in the Finance industry and start his own company, LTN Associates LLC, supporting the Investment Manager Services industry.
Frank was an enthusiastic Boston sports fan, especially for the Patriots. His most favorite joy of life was becoming a Dad. He enjoyed being a Dad above all else. He loved taking his children to museums, camping, and attending numerous hot air balloon festivals. He also enjoyed the friendship and laughter of his lifelong best friend, Dennis Crivello of Topsfield.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda Whalen, his children Trevor Whalen of Las Cruces, NM, and Nicole Whalen of Carmel, ME, his siblings John of CT and Lawrence of Somerville, sister-in-law Sharon Pitts and husband David of Tewksbury, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings Patricia Gosine, Helen Haneffant, James Whalen, and Barbara Synan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Saturday, November 1, from 12-2 PM in the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. Wake Prayers will follow the calling hours. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
