Francis Arthur "Fran" Witham

Francis Arthur Witham, 62, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 5, 2025. Born in Lowell, MA, he was the beloved son of the late Irving F. and Jeanne D'Arc (Vallois) Witham.

Fran was raised in Laconia, NH and attended Laconia High School. He was a dedicated and talented Master Electrician for decades, earning a reputation for his meticulous attention to detail and safety. Friends and family could often find (and lovingly joke about) Fran carefully studying and discussing a ceiling's recessed lighting at any gathering. He had a gift for building, repairing, and problem solving; a talent that he undoubtedly passed to his sons. Fran supported his local community of North Attleboro, working for Hammond Electrical Services for many years.

Fran's passions in life were the Boston Bruins and Harley Davidson. When it wasn't Harley season, Fran was watching every Bruins game. He was a wealth of knowledge about the sport and the love for his team could literally be measured by the stacks of Bruins t-shirts and jerseys he owned. When spring hit New England, Fran was quick to take his Harley Davidson Sportster 48 out of storage. He shared years of memories going on long rides with his son Zach and brother Joe; a Riding Club that would frequent Lake George, Laconia, Wachusett Mountain and the Rack.

You can find Fran smiling in every picture of him with his grandchildren. Lovingly known as Pepere, Fran was a warm and joyful grandfather. You could see the genuine amazement he had for his grandkids as he got down on the floor to build train tracks or read a story. His three-year-old grandsons are following in Pepere's footsteps; a (destructive) curiosity to "fix" things and use any Playskool power tool they can get their tiny hands on. Pepere will be so deeply missed.

Fran is survived by his beloved sons: Benjamin F. Witham and his fiancé, Kelsey, of Methuen, MA and Zachary L. Dumont and his wife, Kaleigh of West Yarmouth, MA; three cherished grandchildren: Odin Witham, Nolan Dumont and Emerson Dumont; five caring siblings: Jeanne La Vallee and her late husband, "Butch" of Lowell, MA, Rachel Miller and her husband, Patrick of Randolph, MA, Arthur Frechette of Lowell, MA, Priscilla Flannery and her late husband, Paul, of Abbington, MA and Joseph Witham and his companion, Paddy Jacobson, of North Attleboro, MA.

A Memorial Service and family gathering will be held in the future at a time and location to be announced.
