Francisco Jose Cordeiro

Francisco J. Cordeiro, was the oldest son of Joao Franco and Maria Fragata Cordeiro and sibling to Januario (since passed), and youngest brother Antonio. He was born in Portugal in 1931. After his school years, he worked as both a farmer with his Father, and also in local factories. He married his wife, Maria Jose in 1954. They were married for 65 years until her passing in 2020.

In 1960, to achieve a better life and future, he immigrated to New York with his wife and two young children, with another daughter born in 1966. The family settled in Kings Park, NY. He worked in the construction/concrete field, loved family gatherings, gardening and cooking for all. He was very social and loved telling stories. After retirement, he and his wife took many long trips back to their beloved Portugal to be with family and friends.

He lived a modest and simple life and will be remembered by many, as all that met him loved him. He leaves behind his son Carlos, daughters Maria Ceu, Maria Helena, daugher- in- law Amy, son- in- laws Bill and Vinny, nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren along with many friends and family. Our hearts will be broken, but our memories and love will be eternal. RIP
