Nació en 1947 en Las Zarquillas, Michoacán. Junto a su esposa, María Guadalupe Méndez Mora, formaron una familia de 11 hijos, de los cuales 10 le sobreviven.
Hombre humilde, trabajador y honesto, amaba profundamente el campo y su ganado. Fue un católico devoto cuya fe guió su vida y sus acciones. En busca de una vida mejor, emigró a los Estados Unidos, donde trabajó durante muchos años en la agricultura y en fábricas en estados como Oregón, California y Arizona. Aun así, cada verano regresaba a Las Zarquillas para sembrar sus tierras, actividad que era su verdadera pasión.
Conocido con cariño como Pa Kiko por sus nietos y Don Kiko por sus amigos, fue un hombre de pocas palabras, pero de gran corazón. Le sobreviven su esposa María Guadalupe, y sus hijos: Angelina, María de la Luz, Rigoberto, Elvia, María Guadalupe, Isela Christina, Ilda Beatriz, Francisco Javier, Luis Miguel y Abraham.
Su legado de fe, esfuerzo, honestidad y amor por la tierra vivirá para siempre en su familia.
