Pedro “Pops” Lozano Garibay, 77, of Meigs, GA, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Father Alfonso Gutierrez officiating. Interment will follow at Baker Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Pedro Garibay, Jr, Pedro Garibay III, Julio Garibay, Ryan Zavala, Justin Poole, and Brandon Lopez serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Vince Hoaglin, Juan Cruz, and Darren Smiley.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Born on October 14, 1947, in Harlingen, Texas, he was the son of the late Maria Lozano Acevedo and Julio Garibay. Mr. Garibay retired from farming and was of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Garibay is survived by his wife, Sara Garcia Garibay; son, Pedro Garibay, Jr., and wife Josephine; daughters, Margie Hoaglin and husband Vince, Melissa Cruz and husband Juan, Lily Smiley and husband Darren; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Tony Acevedo.
