Francisco Javier Ortiz, age 48, passed away on July 18, 2025. He was born on April 3, 1977, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, Carmen Rodriguez and the late Francisco Ortiz.
Francisco was the beloved father of Kamil Javier Ortiz, Karina Mya Ortiz, and Kelany Nicole Ortiz. He was a devoted brother to Jannett Ortiz and Wenddy I. Gomez, and a treasured uncle to Keshia Cruz, Kelvin Mojica Ortiz, Khristian Gomez, and Kiara Mojica.
Francisco had a deep love for movies and TV shows. Some of his all-time favorite films included Saving Private Ryan, all of the Rush Hour movies, The Last Samurai, and, best of all, Scarface. He also enjoyed binge-watching series like Queen of the South, Narcos, Supernatural, Arrow, Cobra Kai, and The Walking Dead.
He loved gathering with family for cookouts and was known for throwing the biggest birthday parties, unforgettable Fourth of July celebrations, and lively New Year’s gatherings. He cherished every moment spent with those closest to him. Francisco also enjoyed camping, listening to music, collecting Oakley glasses, going to baseball games, and watching the Browns—even if they let him down every year.
An adventurous soul, Francisco loved to travel and try new foods, but he especially loved to cook. He was an excellent cook, known for his delicious chocolate chip Mickey Mouse pancakes, and he had a special love for Mexican cuisine and Chinese buffets.
Above all, Francisco was a provider, a role model, and an amazing father. Despite the many obstacles he faced growing up and stepping into the role of man of the house at a young age, he never let go of his big, beautiful smile. He did his best each and every day and became the man his family and friends knew and loved. His strength, love, and unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Slone & Co. Life Celebration Center 3556 W. 130th St. Cleveland, OH 44111.
