Devoted husband, father, son, friend, colleague, and a profoundly kind soul

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of François Ramette, who left us on July 13, 2025, in Chicago, surrounded by family and friends. A beloved presence in both his personal and professional communities, François was a man whose quiet strength, kindness, and deep empathy brought comfort and light to all who knew him.

Born in France, François built a life grounded in love, curiosity, and compassion. After moving to the United States, he proudly became a dual citizen embracing both cultures with joy and gratitude. He deeply valued the heritage, values, and perspectives each brought, and reflected them in the way he lived, loved, and raised his family.

François shared his life with his beloved wife, Karelle, and their three children - Eva, Chloé, and Charlie - to whom he was endlessly devoted. He was, above all, a family man: present, gentle, and grateful of the love and laughter they shared. He was immensely proud of his children - of who they are, what they love, and how they move through the world.

He was also a devoted son to his parents and a loyal friend to many, across continents. He nurtured these bonds with quiet consistency, thoughtful gestures, and unwavering support. Whether near or far, François was someone others could count on - the first to listen, the first to help, and the last to judge.

Kindness was the thread that ran through everything he did. His empathy was natural, never forced - a reflection of his deep capacity to connect with others. Friends and loved ones often turned to him for guidance, comfort, and calm. Simply being in his presence brought steadiness, warmth, and hope.

François approached life with passion and joy. He was an avid marathon runner and triathlete who found peace in motion and in nature. He loved wine - not just for the taste, but for the culture, the ritual, and the company it invited. And he loved to sing, especially the timeless songs of Dalida, which he performed with humor and heart, filling family moments with music and delight.

Though accomplished in his professional career, François never sought status or recognition. What truly mattered to him was how people felt in his presence - respected, supported, and loved.

He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, humility, and deep human connection - carried forward by his wife Karelle, their beloved children Eva, Chloé, and Charlie, his parents, Anne-Marie and Bernard, and the many friends and loved ones whose lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed - and forever loved.
