Frank Jr. went home to be with his Heavenly Father peacefully, at the home he loved, on Monday, September 1, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1935, to the late Frank, Sr. and Louise Baines.

He attended Taylor High School and was in the final graduating class. He was the last surviving member of the class of 1952. He truly loved Taylor High School and shared its history and significance to the community to anyone who would listen. Dad and the surviving Taylor High School Alumni were recognized on February 15, 2025, during the half-time of the Jeffersonville High School basketball game. Tee shirts were made to celebrate the occasion and the JHS team had special jerseys made that duplicated the ones worn by the Taylor High School team, of which dad was the manager.

Dad enlisted in the Army because he wanted to see the world, and he would joke that they stationed him at Fort Knox. He later was stationed at Ft. Belvoir, in Washington, D. C. and in Anchorage, Alaska, where he served as the unit clerk. It was there that he learned to ski. Dad and mom received their barber's license from Tucker Beauty and Barber College. He was the barber for all the little boys in the neighborhood. He and mom would visit the nursing homes and cut the hair of church members and friends. They also made it a point of handing out gifts during holidays and birthdays.

Dad was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church until he married the love of his life Nelsine Head. They were united in holy matrimony on August 4, 1956. He united with the Bethel A. M. E. Church family after marriage and remained there until his death. He truly loved his church, and it was displayed by the many hours spent there repairing the church, attending bible study and teaching Sunday School for over 40 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, his five siblings, grandson, Xavier Somerville and great-grandson Mason William Baines.

Daddy leaves his four children and their families, to continue his legacy: Myra Renee' Baines, Audrey Moore, Victoria Somerville (Exum) and Frank W. Baines, III (Monique), Chansey Dains, whom they raised, and a daughter by closeness Pamela Dixon. He was richly blessed by 15 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. He will be missed by the numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rebecca and Taylor at Interim Healthcare. Your care, compassion, and kindness toward our father were truly extraordinary. The support and comfort you provided during a difficult time meant so much to us, and we will always be grateful for the warmth and dignity you brought to his care.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel A.M.E. Church, building fund.

I would like to express my sympathy to the Baines family. Frank has been my neighbor for 25 years. Many times we've talked about life's ups and downs, through out the years . He always had good advice for me, always with a great sense of humor and I surely will miss Frank . I'm glad to have known Frank.
