Frank Vinzi Berarducci

Frank passed away with Virginia by his side on July 16, 2025. He lived a remarkable 93 years filled with wisdom, resilience, and love. Frank was a son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, partner, uncle, great uncle, avid golfer, casino lover, cool car fan, and loyal participant of the daily boys' breakfast in both Redmond, WA, and Walnut Creek, CA.

Frank (Frankie) Vinzi Berarducci, a.k.a. "The Great One," was born in Chisholm, Minnesota, in 1932 as the youngest of 4 children of Tony and Anna (Como) Berarducci. His siblings were Jackie (Giocondina), Carman and Freddie. As a full-blooded Italian, Frank appreciated great cooking, gathering around a table with loved ones, and plenty of laughter.

Frank is a graduate of Chisholm High School, where he played football. He served in the U.S. Air Force, spending time in Korea before returning to the U.S. to complete his college education. He attended several schools on football scholarships and graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

After obtaining his B.S. degree, Frank and his wife Dorothy set out for the West Coast to find the best career opportunities. Frank started in accounting at Chevron in San Francisco. He then spent many years with Matson and its parent company, Alexander and Baldwin, in both San Francisco and Honolulu. He enjoyed several roles at Matson in the Human Resources area with increasing levels of responsibility. The pinnacle of his career was at Cigna Health Plan in Glendale, California, where he served as Senior Vice President of Administration. Frank retired from corporate life when Cigna exited the health plan business in the late 80s.

After retirement, Frank enjoyed selling real estate and working at golf courses. His retirement years were spent in a variety of places, including Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle and Walnut Creek, California.

Frank was a born storyteller. He captivated those in his company with stories about acrobatic uncles, his family's homemade wine, and life out West. Frank's memory was as formidable as his ability to weave a tale. He'd have you rolling in laughter before he even got to the punchline. That, plus his sly smile as he gave one of his many signature quips, made him great company throughout his life.

Frankie was beloved and he will be greatly missed.
