She was born on December 6, 1947, in Biwabik, Minn. She was the daughter of John and Edith Phillipich.
Dee Dee graduated from Biwabik High School and progressed to the University of Minnesota Duluth to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education along with a Master's Degree in Education. She was a teacher at Hibbing High School where her dedication and knowledge touched countless students. While teaching, she developed and executed a student placed business work program that she was very proud of.

Dee Dee and Jess both had adventurous spirits and a passion for travel. Disney World held a special place in her heart along with Italy and Slovenia. Her memory was extraordinary, and she could recall even the smallest details from her travels.
She was a gifted crafter and gardener and took great pride in canning pickles and preserves. Music brought her joy - especially polkas. Along with listening, she also played the piano accordion. She also had a sweet tooth for chocolate, enjoying life's simple pleasures.
Dee Dee adored her family and cherished every visit with them. She will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, and kind spirit.
