Eulogy for Frank Burgert
Good morning, everyone.
Thank you for gathering here to celebrate the remarkable life of my brother, Frank. Words feel inadequate to capture the fullness of who he was, but today, I hope to paint a portrait of his vibrant spirit, his boundless heart, and the enduring love he leaves behind.
Frank came into this world on October 7, 1952, in Philadelphia, the first spark of Frank and Dolores´ family. From his earliest days, he radiated curiosity and kindness. As my big brother, he was my shield, my guide, my hero, and, yes, my mischievous co-conspirator.
As Frank grew, so did his passions: his devotion to family, his unwavering commitment to lifting others, and his deep love for the ocean´s roar, the beach´s embrace, and music´s soulful pulse. He had an extraordinary gift for connection, always ready with a helping hand, a warm smile, or a steady presence. Whether tinkering with his car, coaching Little League with infectious enthusiasm, or being a rock for his wife and children, Frank poured his whole heart into everything he did.
One memory shines brightly: our family´s visit to see him at naval boot camp in Chicago. There he stood, proud in his uniform, embodying new strengths like discipline, teamwork, leadership, and grit. I swelled with pride, seeing my brother transform into a man of purpose. That moment crystallized Frank´s core: a man who lived boldly, loved fiercely, and never backed down.
Frank´s early career in accounting showcased his precision and work ethic, but his true calling beckoned. Drawn to serve, he returned to school, becoming a critical care RN, a role where his compassion and courage saved lives and touched souls. This leap wasn´t just a career change; it was Frank embracing his deepest truth: to heal, to care, to make a difference.
Frank´s legacy is woven into every life he touched, through his selflessness, his laughter, and his quiet strength. Though he´s no longer physically with us, his love endures, a guiding light in our hearts. Today, let´s honor him by living as he did: with kindness, courage, and an open heart.
Rest in peace, Frank. You´ll always be our hero.

May God give you Eternal Rest, Frank. You were always able add some humor to any situation. We had some great talks about health issues too.
