Massena: F. Larry Danko, age 70, of Massena, NY peacefully passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 12, 1953, to the late, Frank J. and Opal (Self) Danko and was a lifelong resident of Massena.
Larry graduated from Holy Family High School in 1973 and attended Canton ATC.
Larry, along with his brothers, was the second-generation business owner of Danko Construction Corporation founded by his father Frank. He was a highly successful businessman and contributed greatly to the Northern New York Community which he loved so much.
Larry was generous and full of life; wanting all those around him to enjoy a great time. He made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed football, boating on the St. Lawrence River, traveling and loved to be outdoors and on the water. He had a great love of family and loved to entertain. He was an avid boat and car collector. He was fun and curious and loved to explore unchartered territory.
Larry is survived by his life partner of 30 years, Robin Clookey, daughter Morgan Danko and cherished granddaughter Madelyn Blanchard; stepsons Marty Brothers and Matthew Brothers and the son he never had, Justin Blanchard. Also included are Amanda and Jason Clookey.
His surviving siblings are Joseph Danko (Barbara), Gary Danko (Greg Lopez), Patricia Gilmer (Randy), John Danko (Lynda Adner), Kathryn Hampton (Roger) and Daniel Danko (Julie).
Larry was blessed with several nieces and nephews: Joseph Danko (Anne Deruchia), Chris Danko (Lindsay), Melissa Danko (Chris Vincent), McKinley Gilmer, Jenelle Gilmer (Kevin Mack), Justin Danko, Joel Danko (Morgan), Andrew Danko (Hope), Elias Hampton (Jenn), John Hampton (Lauren), Gannon Hampton (Amanda), Mackenzie Kachik (Colby), Joshua Danko and Ethan Danko. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Opal Danko, a niece Mallory Danko and his sister-in-law Brenda (Bateman) Danko. He is also survived by his ex-wife Brenda LeBeouf.
The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena with a Memorial Service held by the Massena Elks Lodge No. 1702, at 5:45 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home.
A funeral service will be held at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00 am with Rev. Mark Reilly officiating, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
Memorial contribution may be shared with the Church of the Sacred Heart; P.O. Box 329 Main Street, Massena, New York, 13662.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.
I am Al Parisian 's sister, Carol. We would visit your mother and dad when we were in Massena, along with Al and Margaret.
Knew of you kids as very little ones.
My husband, Mike & I, send our deepest sympathy's to you all.
Cherish the time spent with Frank and time will heal the pain.
