Beloved father, companion, and friend entered into rest on December 8, 2025.
Born on January 19, 1972, to William Francis Decker and Catherine Mary (Slaughter) Decker in Newburgh, NY, he lived most of his life in New Windsor, NY.
He learned automotive and diesel mechanics in his father’s shop, Bill Decker Service. His love of art in all forms came from his mother. He was a poet, musician, and enjoyed creating with his hands. His musical talents included violin, guitar, piano, and drums; much was self taught. He enjoyed wood working and drawing.
Intelligent and focused, he took over his father’s business and created BDS Hydraulics, which he enjoyed, for it gave him the time and freedom to spend with his son.
Frank was a loving, understanding, and nurturing father. He enjoyed helping his son as he grew. Scouts, video games, cartoons, anime, and comics—he shared all his loves with his only son.
He settled in Fort Mill, SC, and eventually began working for Hyundai as a part of their parts department team. He then set about building a life with his long time companion, Tammy. They built a life, laughed often, mostly at each other, and enjoyed the serenity that comes from loving your best friend.
The proudest moment of his life came when his brilliant son graduated high school with honors and started college.
He was looking forward to spending the holidays with those he loved when he was suddenly taken from us. He would not want us to be sad at this time of year. He would want us all to remember him in our own way this holiday, and smile.
Those who will miss his presence and remember him with love:
His son, Gregory Decker of South Carolina ;His love, Tamara Ann Sovik of Fort Mill, SC; His dog, Skittles; and cat, Anya, As well as his many friends and family.
Please join us in remembering and celebrating Frank’s life at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill on December 21, 2025, at 1 pm.
