FRANK DOLINAR age 91, beloved husband for 68 years of Pauline F. (nee Adamic); devoted father of Michael (Christine) Dolinar, Edward Dolinar, and Lydia Gadd (John Gorshe); loving grandfather of Katarina (Matthew) Kulbis, Marina Dolinar, and Adriana Gadd; and great-grandfather of Emily, Eleanor, Abigail, and Nicholas Kulbis; cherished son of the late Marija Brecelj; dearest brother of the late Bernard, Marija, Kristina, and Stanley; uncle and great-uncle of many. Frank was born on October 18, 1933, to Marija Brecelj in Slovenia. His family fled Slovenia when he was 12 years old, escaping the Communist regime. The internment camp in Spittal, Austria was his home for 5 years until he emigrated to the United States in 1949. Within the Slovenian community of Collinwood, he met his long time loving wife, Pauline. The two were married in 1957 and raised 3 children. Frank worked as a millwright at Lincoln Electric for over 30 years. When he wasn't at work, Frank enjoyed spending time with family and friends at "the Farm", his wooded property in Trumball Township where he used to camp and hunt. Over the years he also enjoyed playing balinca (bocce), and cards, and visiting casinos. He very much enjoyed his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather. In his later years he also enjoyed volunteering for many years as an usher at Mount Carmel Catholic Church and solving his daily Sodoku puzzles. Frank passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 30, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, August 7, 2025, at St. Mary Of The Assumption Catholic Church (15519 Holmes Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110) at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Frank at ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH (15519 HOLMES AVE., CLEVELAND, OH 44110) THURSDAY FROM 9-10 AM.
