RICHARD PHILLIP FINE age 59, beloved husband for 37 years of Sabine (nee Emmel); loving father of Dayna Slomovitz (husband Eric) and Julia Fine (husband Jacob Hatfield); cherished son of the late Paul and Harriett (nee Brown) Fine; dearest brother of Michelle Reiner (husband Robert), Michael, and Martin (wife Cathy Brooks-Fine); dear brother in law, uncle, great uncle, and friend of many. Survived by his canine companions Teddy and Charlie.
Richard was born on August 28th, 1966, to Paul and Harriett, in Cleveland Ohio. He attended Beachwood High School, where he played football, baseball, and wrestled. After graduating in 1984, he went on to receive his associates degree. Richard made the honorable choice to enlist in the United States Air Force, and he bravely served his country for 12 years. He continued to be involved in the military even after his separation, and he worked as a Senior Field Service Engineer for Raytheon Technology for many years. Richard met the love of his life, Sabine, and the two were happily married in 1989. They decided to start a family together, and he helped bring two darling daughters into the world. Richard had the opportunity to travel all over the country as member of the Air Force, and he also got to travel outside the country as well! He was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan and especially enjoyed rooting for the Guardians, Browns, and Cavaliers every season. Richard was also a fan of Peter Gabriel, The Who, and Genesis, but also enjoyed listening to classical music as well. He was best described as 'a kid in a grownups body' and never lost his sense of childlike wonder and imagination. He was fun to be around, and his goofy sense of humor never failed to make his friends and family laugh. Richard passed away on March 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind a legacy as a man who was devoted to both his country and those he loved.
