Frank Gregory Erdman, age 74, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday January 21, 2022 at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA. He was the husband of Darlene Erdman (Coughenour), with whom he shared 37 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was a son of the late John F. Erdman and the late Harriet Shelton Erdman.
Frank graduated from Quakertown High School and attended Midwestern College in Iowa for two years for football before enlisting in the Army. Frank was a career military Chief Warrant Officer serving our country in the Army during the Vietnam War and in the National Guard for over 35 years before retiring in 2005. Between his time from the Army and National Guard he lived in Germany and owned a well known submarine-hoagie shop where he always supported the local community in the area of his business. He also used to compete in skiing competitions where he did win one of the championships in 1982. He then worked for Ronsen Aviation and had a contract with chopper10 NBC as a helicopter pilot. He was also a tool and die maker for Bracalentes. He retired after 10 years with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board at their Rieglesville location as the Wine and Spirits Manager.
He was a member of the Quakertown American Legion Post 242 as well as the National Rifle Association. In Greg's spare time he enjoyed golfing at the Indian Valley Country Club as well as fishing and hunting, especially during deer season. He Always had a love for sports, specifically football, auto racing and golf. He also enjoyed traveling to Tucson, Az to see his sister Beverly and all the nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Darlene, he is survived by one daughter, Michelle L. Erdman (33) of Quakertown, Pa and his sister Beverly Erdman Henderson and her husband Frank Henderson of Tucson, Az as well as his Cousins Joan Freed and Danny Rutter. He is also survived by his step mother, step-sister, sisters-in-laws, step-brother, brothers-in-laws, and his many nieces and nephews.
You are invited to visit with Frank's family and friends from 9:30-11AM Friday February 4, 2022 at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, Ltd. (215-536-3343) 135 W. Pumping Station Rd. Quakertown, PA 18951. His Life Celebration Service will follow around 11AM. Interment will be held privately at St. Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery in Spinnerstown. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Wallace Willard Keller, American Legion Post 242, 610 E. Broad St. Quakertown, PA 18951. Greg really loved being in the pool in the summer time. Good memories of him on the floaty tanning at his sister's house or adding hilarlious commentary to any football game on tv.
