Frank Edmond Fulcher, 87, of Washington, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:08pm surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 6, 1937, to the late George Ernest & Lorena Madge (Foster) Fulcher in Washington, Indiana; and he spent his childhood growing up in Petersburg, Indiana.
Frank married the love of his life, Sandra (Fettinger) Fulcher, on December 10, 1963, and they spent over sixty-one years together happily married. Frank was a hard-working family man. He grew up working the timber business with his father, and went on to make a lifelong career out of it. He bought, cut, and sold standing timber for his entire career, which started when he was 4 years old.
Frank liked to hunt and fish, and he also enjoyed a good game of washers. Of all things, the most important in Frank’s life were his family. He loved to play with the grandbabies (most recently Franki) and loved to tease everyone as much as he could. He would squirt kids with ice water when they weren’t looking. He also was always ready to play a game of basketball, which was usually “around the world”, or a game of “PIG” or “HORSE”. The name of the game depended on how much time he had in the moment to spend, sometimes short, and others much longer. He was a big tease, and his sense of humor and love he had for his family will be missed immensely.
Survivors of Frank include his wife, Sandra Fulcher of Washington, IN; his children, Steve Fulcher and his wife Karen of Oakland City, IN, Pam Albrecht and her husband Fred of Washington, IN; his grandchildren, Allyson Fulcher-Joyce, Blake Albrecht, and Ashlee Shevchenko and her husband T.J; great-grandchildren, Zoe Joyce, Alexi Hicks, Caleb Hicks, Liza Joyce, Jase Joyce, Franki Shevchenko, and one more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lorena; his sisters, Shirley Wininger, Mary Falls, Carolyn Thompson-Hensley, Dorothy Powers; and his grandson, Judah Hicks.
Visitation for Frank will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 9:30am – 2:00pm ET at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. A funeral service will begin immediately following visitation at 2:00pm with Pastor James Myers officiating. Internment will follow in Caress Cemetery in Petersburg, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made directly to the IU Health Simon Cancer Center, in Indianapolis, IN. Donation envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
