He was born April 15, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Frank and Joan August Schumacher Kanz.
He was retired from the NYPD.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Kanz; two sons, Jonathan (Sharon) Kanz of Orangevale, CA and Timothy (Jasmine) Kanz of Middlebourne, WV; a daughter, Kristen (Ruben) Acosta of Upland, CA; and 6 grandchildren.
Per Frank's request, no services will be held.
Arrangements entrusted to Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory New Martinsville, WV.

Frank was a friend and classmate of mine when we were growing up in rural New Jersey. He was well liked by everyone and will be missed by all who knew him.
