Frank Latham, a devoted family man and a cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 29, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on February 7, 1939, in Sharon, SC, to the late John William Latham and Evelyn Goforth Latham.
Throughout his life, Frank exemplified kindness and a good-hearted nature that touched the lives of those around him. He was a devout Christian of the Baptist Faith and he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His love for his family was clear to all; he proudly celebrated a beautiful marriage with his loving wife of 68 years, Nola Grace Latham. Together, they raised a loving family that includes their daughters, Debbie Tucker (Alan), Diane Godfrey, Donna Whitener (Darrin), and Dale Riley. Frank was the proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Ashley (Nathan), Brett, Carla, Cally (Curtis), Brandon (Masi), Gavin, Christian, and Wade; and he had the joy of being a great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren, Nola Grace, Scarlett, Vera, and Lucas. He also leaves behind his beloved sisters, Jean Raynor and Frances Richardson (George), along with numerous nieces and nephews and an honorary family member, Joe Reynolds.
Frank dedicated 19 years of his life to Southern Railway before also enjoying a career with the City of Belmont. He was a steadfast worker who took pride in providing for his family. In his leisure time, Frank found joy in NASCAR racing, particularly cheering for his favorite driver, Brad Keselowski. He cherished many adventures outdoors, whether it was camping, fishing, or hunting. The calming waves and sandy shores of the beach were favorite retreats where he would take joy in the simple pleasure of nature.
Frank’s warmth and friendliness made him an outstanding individual, admired by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, each of whom carry the memory of his kindness and joyful laughter.
