Frank Anthony Macek, 81, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on December 12,1943, in Kansas City, Kansas, Frank was the son of Victor Macek and Mary (Slanc) Macek and was one of eleven children. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was always active and eager to help others.

A proud retiree of General Motors Leeds Plant after 30 years of dedicated service, Frank channeled his constant energy into helping others and staying busy. His passions included gardening, bowling, attending the Croation Catholic Union bowling tournaments, working at Joe’s farm, and assisting friends and family with all types of home projects, big or small. He was a true "jack of all trades" who was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a proud Eagle Scout.

More than anything, Frank cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Donna Kay Macek, with whom he was married for 60 years. He was particularly proud of his daughters and two grandsons with whom he took great joy in watching them grow. His kind heart and willingness to help will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Frank was a parishioner at St. George Catholic Church, Odessa, Missouri.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Angela Macek; his sister Helen Macek; brothers Danny, Mike, Tony, John, Matt, and Joe Macek; sisters-in-law Mary Agnes Macek, Janice Macek, Irene Macek, Darlene Finke; and brother-in-law Larry Moody.

Frank is survived by his wife Donna of Bates City, Missouri; daughters Michelle (Jerry) Howard of Bates City, Missouri and Joleen Macek of Fairfax, Virginia; grandsons Justin (Makayla) Howard of Higginsville, Missouri and Colton (Megan) Howard of Lone Jack, Missouri; brothers Vic (Lucille) Macek and Tom (Mary Alice) Macek; sister Theresa Moody; sisters-in-law Linda Macek, Jan Macek, and Deanna (Ken) Nolan; brother-in-law Jerry Finke; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Thursday October 9, 2025, at St. George Catholic Church, 716 S. 3rd Street, Odessa, Missouri 64076. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church. Rite of Committal will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday October 9, 2025, at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 1150 N. 38th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66102. Memories of Frank and condolences for his family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.
