Frank J. Matzke Sr.

St Augustine - Frank J. Matzke Sr., aged 78, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on January 31, 1947, at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton, New York, Frank (Jim) was the beloved son of Frank H. and Donna Matzke.
Frank was a devoted husband to Linda for 59 years, a loving father to Michelle (Gabor) Janossy and Frank (Andrea) Matzke Jr., and a proud grandfather, "Pops," to Samantha, Erol, Evva, Amanuel, Tallulah, and Christian, as well as a great-grandfather to Leena.
His family will forever remember his quick wit, warm humor, and his passions for photography, gardening, and genealogy. Above all, Frank will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family.
He is survived by his siblings Kandace (Dan) Eaton, Douglas (Mary) Matzke, Roger (Julie) Matzke, and Erick (Shelly) Matzke, and was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Stephen C. Matzke.
Frank and Linda, both retired teachers from the Palatka school district, shared a love for world travel, cherished time with friends, and took great joy in supporting their grandchildren's hobbies and dreams.
A celebration of Frank's life will be held in late spring of 2026.

Frank will be deeply missed, but his love, wisdom, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
