Frank Alan Miller, age 62, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away on Saturday August 16, 2025 at Esther Hospice House in Elkhart following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 22, 1963 the son of Franklin and Florence (Weaver) Miller in Elkhart.
He is survived by four children, Melissa Kilby of Lenoir, North Carolina, Holly (Joe) Reed of Elkhart, Indiana; Alan (Esther) Miller of Constantine, Michigan, and Emily (Dalton) Winterrowd of South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, Gabriel, Benjamin, Aidan, Harlow, Alexander, Jonathan, Drew, Sophie, Persephanie, Mason, Paislee, and Kai; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Leanne (Ronald) PeGan and Holly Helbling both of Goshen, Indiana; four nieces and three nephews; along with his special furry companion, Tater.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Miller and Florence (Calvin) Helbling; an infant son, Christopher Miller; and a brother, Charles Miller.
Frank worked for nearly 40 years in the RV Industry and retired from Dutchmen RV Plant 802 in 2024. Frank was exceptionally talented and a very handy man. Known for his unwavering work ethic and endurance, he was often referred to as “Frank the Tank” as he continued to work as long as he could while battling cancer and enduring treatments.
Frank loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed passing on his skills to his children and grandchildren. He was very knowledgeable on a vast number of subjects. Before there was Google, there was Frank. He loved repairing, remodeling, gardening, collecting old toys, and old cars in real life. Frank was always finding ways to make things better and left the world a better place.
A celebration of Frank’s Life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Miller- Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S Main St, Middlebury, IN 46540. Burial will follow at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Middlebury.
Family and friends will be received from 10am until noon prior to the service on Friday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home.
